Bareroots are simply bare roots of a flower with no soil. Daylily roots are often referred to as bulbs or sometimes even tubers, however they are truly roots. When we dig and separate our daylilies, we carefully extract them from the soil, then separate the fans of each daylily with crown and roots in tact. The fans (sets of leaves) are trimmed down to minimize stress while transplanting. The size of the roots and fans vary by daylily variety. Spring purchases typically bloom in the same year while fall purchases will see color the following year. We recommend that customers plant their new roots as soon as possible and water well for several weeks while the plant gets established.

We currently dig up daylilies during two periods a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Summer is too hot for the plants to easily reestablish themselves, plus, the blooms would be disrupted. Rachael My Love Daylily

I definitely can’t pick just one, their beauty amazes me every time I see them in bloom! As much as I try, the online photos just do not do them justice! However, I will share a few that catch my eye and spark my interest.
- Abbie Kisses & Grape Magic; I've never been a pink loving girl, but I love the soft yet bold hue of these flowers.
- Lake Norman Double & Rachael My Love; These doubles with their frilly extra petals are always a unique sight.
- Blackberries & Cream; I really like re-bloomers as they have longer seasons of color. These are early and heavy bloomers, and compete with the traditional Stellas.
- Beautiful Edgings; The subtle color on the huge petals with frilly edges, a trifecta of rye catching features.
- Garden Chapeau; The color in this screams summertime! Bright coral, watermelon pink, and lemonade yellow all in one flower.
- Kwanso; This daylily is simply elevated. It looks very much like the common Ditch Lily but opens with a triple layer of gorgeous petals.
